Gwendolyn Hayes’ Statement of Faith

I began to reflect on this statement of faith at a worship conference (as required) a few years ago. I was so excited to be there, I thought it was Christmas morning! This is truly who I am in Him:

I believe that God is God. The One, Who has not been created, is my Lord. I believe that He is the awesome Creator of this world and me. I believe that He is all knowing and all loving. I love Him because He first loved me. He loved me even before my mother called out my name. I believe He awesomely designed and birthed Jesus the Christ as the son of God and that He is the reason for grace and mercy. I believe that Jesus, following the law of His Father, died on the Cross, at Calvary for my sins and yours. I believe His last breath was our first breath of Love. I know as He rose on the third day. He washed away my sins and made me free. I know that all I do is through His strength! I truly believe that the Bible is the complete and wonderfully inspired Word of God. I believe that my God gave us the Holy Spirit to hold and love us here on earth. I believe in all eternity and eternal praise of the Father is my gift from Him as I am a saved sinner who seeks Him each day. When the Father gives me a song or a word, I will do my best through Him to express His Love. In Him only -can I become complete in the spiritual, intellectual, social, environmental, physical, and vocational areas of my life.

My Scriptures of Faith

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matthew 5:13

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:1-3

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is Unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint”
Isaiah 40:28-31

“…For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…”
Jeremiah 29:11

My Favorite Hymn
“Jesus is Real To Me”

My Happiest Tear
Watching someone come up from the baptism pool…”

My prayer is that my gifts of speaking and service be a blessing to each that I meet, and help them to be closer to Him and become more like Him. I believe Jesus has the heart to love us all, and I strive each day to be like Him. It is my greatest desire to serve Him by serving others. I believe that God will return for His bride the church and I want to be a testimony each day and a witness to share His message of Love as we await His return for us. I believe His promises for you and me.

As my God honors me by letting me unchain the praise in my music, teaching and when sharing His Word, I recommit each day to my promise of worship and service to Him. If my passion ever gets weak, I pray that my Lord refresh my commitment and covenant to Him again and again!

Your sister in Christ,
